Draught Proofing

Why draught proof your property?

The reason for suitably draught proofing your home is fairly obvious, if cold winter air is entering your home - it costs more in fuel to heat it, and vice-versa. Having draught proofing fitted simply fills the gaps around windows and doors that cold air can penetrate (and warm air can escape).

Not having adequate draught proofing has been found to accost up to 25% of a home's lost heat, and can save up to £25 a year in heating bills alone (Source: Energy Savings Trust). We follow a number of measures taken to alleviate this loss - rubber strips around doors/windows and brushes over letter boxes,

What does it involve?

As with all measures we carry out, our first step is to arrange a free, no obligation survey to assess the property's suitability. Once this is complete, the details are sent to our office and you will hear from our scheduling team to make a mutually convenient appointment for installation.

Our technicians then arrive on site with colour matched strips and brushes to be attached were required. These strips/brushes are then pinned to the edges of the doors/windows with galvanised steel pins (to prevent rusting). All openings are then checked for full and free movement and all equipment cleared up before departure.

Once the work is complete, and you are entirely satisfied - should a grant be involved, all we require is a signature to claim the grant on your behalf.
