Loft Insulation

Why insulate?

The loft space is wildly acknowledged to be one of the main areas of heat loss in an un-insulated home - around 25%. Having your loft insulated is by far one of the best ways to combat this problem. We all know warm air rises, so even with your walls and floor insulated, as well as windows double glazed; warm air will simply find its route out through the loft space.

Of course this is no problem if your loft is fully insulated up to present day specifications. However, many properties have been found to be woefully short of the 270mm (11 inches) recommended.

As with cavity wall insulation, the government has stepped in to ensure the best opportunity to relieve householders of this burden by recommending Loft Insulation under the current grant schemes available.

What does it cost?

Before any formal quote/contract, a full inspection of the property must be undertaken due to the vast number of variables. That being said, a typical 3 bedroom semi-detached house for 270mm lay would be somewhere in the region of £169. There are also fully funded grants available to cover all the costs should you be on curtain means tested benefits. Please call (FREEPHONE) 0500 223226 to see if you are entitled to have your loft insulated at no cost to yourself!

What does it involve?

Before we can proceed, a no cost professional survey must be carried out on the property to ensure structural stability, whether or not a grant is available for you given the existing depth already in place, and to establish the overall cost of the works to be undertaken.

On confirmation that the property is indeed suitable, the contract will be passed to our head office for the scheduling department to book the works in on a mutually convenient date. On this appointed date, our technicians will arrive to insulate your loft in a friendly, courteous and professional manner to the specifications laid down by our surveyor. Upon the works being complete, all we require is a signature from you to enable us to claim the grant on your behalf.
