Why Insulate

There are several reasons the Government are asking us to insulate our homes - chiefly, to help reachthe CO2 emissions target they have in place. However, the financial benefits of insulation to the average householder are not to be underestimated, as a properly insulated home can save you up to £115 yearly. Both cavity wall and loft insulation are by far the best means of achieving this target, by retaining 35% and 25% of your homes heat respectively.

With this in mind, and with the grants now available to all homeowners, cavity wall and loft insulation is an extremely cost effective way to reduce your heating demands and save money. Please click here to book a no free, no obligation quotation.

How it works

A little known fact is that air is one of the worst conductors of heat there is; this in turn makes it a great insulant. Unfortunately though, air is not known for sticking around in one place for long, and indeed, as soon as it warms, simply rises - leaving behind a void for cooler air to replace it. Therefore, air alone is hardly the ideal solution.

Most insulating material works by trapping this air in small pockets so it cannot move as freely as it would wish. This is exactly how both mineral wools we use for cavity wall and loft insulation work, creating a boundary between the heated air inside your property and the world outside - yet still allowing the property to breathe. Another little known fact is that due to these properties, the opposite is true during the summer months - keeping your home cooler on those blisteringly hot summer days.
